Damdep, December 10, 2025:
On December 8, 2025, Dg. Premo Kanti Tongchangya became the first Tongchangya MDC from the Indian National Congress party in the Lai Autonomous District Council. This was a big deal in the Tongchangya of Mizoram. The man’s grandfather was on the village council, and his father is Devalia Tongchangya. He was the village president of the Vaseikai village council before he ran for office as an MDC candidate from M Kawnpui Constituency, LADC.
Everyone in the M. Kawnpui MDC Constituency and Tongchangya is thrilled today because they did something really great. The people of M Kawnpui Constituency have always been there for them.
Dangu Premo Kanti Tongchangya should be delighted that he was chosen to be a Member of District Council (MDC) for the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC). You worked hard and did a good job of leading, which is why you won. For the Chakma and Tongchangya people that dwell in LADC, this is also a very important time in their history.
He performed a terrific job, and members from both the LADC and CADC groups, including Chakma and Tongchangya, told him so. When Dangu Premo Kanti Tongchangya was elected to the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) from the M.Kawnpui MDC Constituency, there were celebrations in the main office of the Tongchangya Students’ Union in Damdep.
You are running for office to support growth, fairness, and hope. It’s a strong message that people can make things better if they work together and are committed. People trust you to speak for them, and we know you will do it with honesty, intelligence, and a deep desire to serve others.
We hope that as you start this new chapter, you are strong, bold, and able to see things clearly. Your efforts should help everyone in the district you now work for achieve peace, growth, and money.
People will remember your accomplishment as a good thing that gives people hope and sets a good example for years to come. We hope you are knowledgeable, strong, and dedicated to serving the people and keeping their confidence.
