Damdep| Two young talents from the Tongchangya community have made Mizoram proud by shining at the National Level Sports Meet in Odisha, where they represented Ekalovya Model Residential School, Chawngte, Lawngtlai, Mizoram.
Arun Kumar Tongchangya, son of Kosmuni Tongchangya from Boraguisury, impressed everyone with his outstanding performance in Judo (60–70 kg category). Driven by determination, he overcame four tough competitors to win a Silver Medal—a remarkable milestone in his sporting journey.
Meanwhile, Hridoy Tongchangya, son of Kaloba Tongchangya from Samuksora, made a splash in the swimming pool by winning two Gold Medals. His endurance and speed set him apart as he claimed Gold in both the 1500m Freestyle and the 100m Backcrawl swimming.
These achievements bring pride not only to their families and EMRS Chawngte but also serve as inspiration for young students across the community.
